The logical-mathematical
learning style is one of nine types of learning styles, or intelligence,
defined in developmental psychologist Howard Gardner's Theory Of Multiple Intelligences.
It refers to your child's ability to reason, solve problems, and learn using
numbers, abstract visual information, and analysis of cause-and-effect
relationships.
Logical-mathematical intelligence is the capacity to use numbers effectively and reason well.
Someone who has this kind of intelligence is able to see cause and effect really well; also, they are able to identify a problem and solve it right there on the spot.
People with this intelligence think by reasoning, and they love experimenting, questioning, figuring out logical puzzles, and calculating.
The kinds of processes used in the logical-mathematical intelligence sequence are:
Categorization
Inference
Classification
Generalization
Calculation
Hypothesis testing
It's natural to wonder where your child's learning style may take them in life. The mathematically and logically talented student may be drawn to careers such as:
Accountant
Actuary
Auditor
Financial Consultant
Chemical engineer
Computer programmer
Computer technician
Database designer
Electronic engineer
Mathematician
Mechanical engineer
Network analyst
Statistician
Systems analyst
